Use Microsoft Form to Register Students for Solar Eclipse Observation Camp

Science Club of Sulaimaniya College had sucessfully organised a Solar Eclipse Observation Camp at school premises on 26th December 2019. To enroll in the event student were requested to register through the given online form. The registration form was created using Microsoft Forms. Only registered students were allowed to participate in the event. Since it was holiday, the online form was easy for students to confirm their participation. Also it was easy for us to take the head count and make necessary arrangement. The notice for the registration was shared via school social media.

Microsoft Sri Lanka Calls Application for Education Exchange 2020

The event is all about celebrating the incredible work done by changemakers in education from around the globe. The essence of E2 is celebration, recognition, collaboration and inspiration.

Educators are welcome to apply to have the opportunity to attend the E2 | Education Exchange. Entries are now open until 3 January 2020.

How to apply

Using Sway on Microsoft Office and present the following:

1. Brief background about yourself
2. Current Role and Expertise
3. Using Sway Media option upload a video that should not exceed 2 minutes. The video to include how you have impacted your community (you may share a few pictures to support same (not required to share any personal information)
4. The entire Sway presentation should not exceed 3-4 slides (contents and video)
5. Submit your Sway presentation link to e2srilanka2020@microsoft.com


Terms & Conditions:

• One selected applicant will get the opportunity of attending the E2- The winner will be notified by mid-January 2020.
• Panel of Judges' decision would be final.
• The applicants should have not attended a E2 Conference before
• Applicant should be classroom Teachers and not Administrators
• Valid Sri Lankan Passport with 6 months validity period

Nenasa Smart School Awards Competition 2019 - Semi Final

The semi final round of Nenasa Smart School Awards Competition 2019 was held on 19th December at Grand Ralidiya Hotel in Kegalle. The competition was divided into four categories such that  Smart School, Smart Ambassador, Smart Teacher and Smart Content. The competition was open all teachers in the Nenasa Smart Schools.

Our school teachers Mr. Rajah, Mr. Ikram, Mr Fahim, Mrs. Nuska, Mrs. Saleema, Mrs Ruzaika, and Miss Shafra  had applied for the competition. Mr. Rajah, Mrs Rajudeen and Mrs Ruzaika had presented their works in front of judge panel. Mrs. Nuska presented her work through online.
Mr. Rajah had applied for Smart School, Smart Ambassador and Smart Content whereas Mrs Rajudeen and Mrs. Ruzaika and took part in the Smart Teacher competition.

The event was well organised by Nenasa Smart School Team and Dialog Axiata. The Final will be held in Colombo in January 2020.

Hour of Code and Word Computer Science Education Week

Sulaimaniya College hosted an Hour of Code Session on 9th December as a Part of World Computer Science Education Week. This global event take place each year in the world to remember the birthday of computing pioneer Admiral Grace Murray Hopper.
 There were more than 25 students participated in the hour of code week. Ambassador teacher Ameer Mohamed Rajah conducted event. Student played Hour of Code which is Artificial Intelligence for Ocean. Students had a chance to learn what is Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Student train the computer to separate different species in the ocean. It was a fun learning time during their December school vacation.

பாடசாலைக்கு தேவையான கால அட்டவணையை எவ்வாறு தயாரிப்பது.

பாடசாலைக்கு தேவையான கால அட்டவணையை  பாரம்பரிய முறையை பயன்படுத்தி தயாரிக்கும்  போது பல அசௌகரியங்களுக்கு முகங்கொடுக்க நேரிடுகிறது. ஆனால் தற்போதுள்ள நவீன மென்பொருள்களை பயன்படுத்தி அதனை விரைவாகவும் வினைத்திறன் மிக்கதாகவும் தயாரித்து கொள்ளமுடியும். அவ்வாறான மென்பொருளாக ASC Timetables எனும் மென்பொருள்  காணப்படுகிறது. இதனை பயன்படுத்தி சாதாரண ஒருவருக்கும் இலகுவாக கால அட்டவணையை தயாரித்துக்கொள்ள முடியும். அதற்கான ஒரு வழிகாட்டலாக கீழ்காணப்படும் YoutTube காணொளி தயாரிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
